Manufacturers, under the firm of Iliffe and Player Brothers, late Hardman and Iliffe, in TLG
22779   13 October
1863.  
Soon after which one Charles Iliffe  assigned his goods & estate to trustee John Pemberton Turner for the
benefit  of his creditors - see Charles Iliffe page for more details.

All the London streets mentioned are known to have had a number of agencies operating from them during this
period.

There is a partnership dissolution notice,  10 August 1837,for Charles lliffe,  William Burt the younger, and John
Davis the younger, Henry Jeremiah Iliffe, (latter to continue on his own),  Horn Button Manufacturers,
Birmingham,  under the style of  Henry Iliffe and Company, TLG 19570   19 December 1837.  This is only
possibly our Charles alternatives  could be, a family member of the same name or someone completely different.
The firm of H.J.Iliffe went on  until 1865. see also Jeremiah Iliffe.

The Elkington connection:
There is a partnership dissolution notice 17th day of October 1843,for,  George Richards Elkington, William
Hammond Turner, James Turner, Henry Turner, John Hardman the elder, John Hardman the younger, and
Jeremiah Iliffe, of Birmingham, Gilders,  under the firm of G. R. Elkington and Co. in TLG 20271  20 October
1843.  Which rather neatly links  some of  the names under review together!
