CLIO   This site has a search engine which leads to a detailed index of
each archives holdings in many instances the information is so good you don't need to view the actual source.

ARCHEION:  Ontario, [Canad ons.com will take you to Dominion & other companies.

ARCHON:  National Archives Catalogue;                                                      also has link to  ARCHON:
List of overseas repositories  with more links to their websites than I would care to copy pointlessly,  ( and
illegally), when you can go there.

The British Library : online catalogue

The Gazettes:  London; Belfast;Cardiff.    Official Newspapers  of record for the UK          see
Periodicals for what 's available.

Google Patent Search:  searches for US Patents. It is easier to use than the search engine at the
US Patent Office site but you could follow this link from
 iwantbuttons.com
There are problems with this source:
1: Claim to have patents from 1790's but the earliest I am able to find - word search for and - is 1836.
2. Known patents cannot be found for example look for the original Vulcanization of rubber patent to see what I
mean. This is probably because of the OCR search engine.
3. patent titles don't always match the content ie link is to another page.
4. pages from one patent mixed with another.

HERO: UK Higher Education  Library Catalogues
